Given capitalism, two questions. Two questions may be asked: the first is about how shall we manage it or regulate it. We have thus “capitalism” but what policy should be applied? But that is not the only question. The second: how should it be understood?
How a thing should be understood is pertinent because capitalism is something to be understood. You an love it, hate it, or take the nuanced approach. There is more than one way of doing the understanding of it. There are also more than two, since I take a nuanced approach. How one person or another feels about it (capitalism) depends crucially on the question of interpretation. And, interpretations vary from person to person. It depends on us, basically — how should we choose to understand.
Interpretations of capitalism have mostly been disasters. I believe economics is an area of increasing freedom, and capitalism is organically a system that allows for our freedom. Thus, there may well be diverse articulations of economic theory and therefore it may be very important to allow space for different views — capitalism has to have within it different views. Our society failed at that, and hence there is mostly only the “love/hate it” schools. Really mostly everyone who gets the money of capitalism loves it. This a tragedy.
But in any case outside of these theoretical things it needs to be managed. Yes: regulation! What else would you call it? There does therefore need to be some attitude that we can be certain of, i.e. some consistent policy. But how to reconcile that with the divergent views? Some attitude must be taken towards this phenomenon of capitalism.
So, now we need a new political faction or party. Huh? Maybe I mean a movement or something like that. Such an initiative might be able to suggest entirely new approaches. We need, that is to say, an approach to take. The new organization I propose to form would thereby find new ways both to approach economics — actually to manage it. Someody needs to do this sort of work. So it may as well be ME.
To help find these new approaches, it is a lot of work. No getting out of that, so therefore if you want to join the organization (to exist, at first, in the domain of SubstackLand) just let me know by asking me to subscribe to you if I am not already one of yours; I will subscribe to you if you request and that gives you access to the email address (mine). And then you will be able to send e-mail! This is where you explain why you want in. Also. Here is a question to answer if you want. Really think:
What would be the best attitude to have towards Capitalism?

The best attitude towards capitalism in theory or capitalism in practice?
