Just Be Alive and Aware
~ thinking free of any framework. Advice to humanity
I subscribe to “Naked Emperor,” which I class together with “Vigilant Fox.” Both of these come across to me as similar. I liked both at first. Yet, I am increasingly dissatisfied with these newsletter of Substack. They like to give book suggestions. From NE, I have received this book suggestion. It links to amazon.com: The Magic of Code: How Digital Language Created and Connects Our World―and Shapes Our Future by Samuel Arbesman
I took this short snippet out of that. “By providing us with a framework to think…”
Nope! There is no “framework” for that. We just have this ability to think. I don’t know where it comes from, but this Section on my Substack is for helping you do it better. That does not mean thinking may be traced to a specific “framework.” I don’t care whether it is the digital framework of those nice computer gentlemen/programers or DNA or any other framework.
So there is no framework. There is just nature. And nature is mysterious. It is often ambiguous. No one knows who created nature.
So then, if it is ambiguous, how do we think based on ambiguity—? How do we do it, considering that there is no framework by which to do it. There is nothing that may be specifically delineated. There is no specific person or persons who may be named with, presumably, royalties paid to them.
There is, in other words, nothing there except for reality itself and one thinks based on that ambiguous indefined mass that is nature. There is nothing that was created by anybody. This is of course shocking to any investor who is waiting for the payoff from his investments.
But that’s the way it is. You learn how to think by not assuming anything is true. You do not depend upon any one size fits all “framework.” If you personally have a framework you like to use, that is ambiguous as well. You may call that a framework, but it is up to you.
Out of having for yourself a pure, open mind it may be that some thought arises. I cannot tell you to have a thought and you cannot force yourself and you cannot have a thought because you intended to have one. All of these attitudes are tempting but you should resist them. Keep an open mind.
Now, once you mind be open like unto this you may have a thought. It may arise. Now you are aware of the thought that has arisen. Because your mind was open it spontaneously manifested its natural capacity for thought. You have the natural capacity to think.
And just watch yourself having these thoughts, without interferring. Perhaps one thought connects to another and you begin to really concentrate and soon you are thinking really hard about very concrete things.
That is all good. And then, at the end, one relaxes and goes back to nature.
That’s how to think~
p.s. here is my book suggestion, ala NE or VF.

The above picture is what my own copy looked like and that has a particular resonance for me, for whatever reason (that I am Autistic or whatever it is…)
Incidentally I like the cover jacket of the book you recommend. To me it’s an abstract arm in motion, performing or constructing something.
Definitely agree. Any purported system to help a person think is mere salesmanship. It’s like pushing the latent model car or phone.
