I assume you mean the lawyer. I think it is number one. The idea of "caring" is easily subverted when the world around one tends to push one in that direction. So maybe it is that the whole environment has to be oriented towards genuine caring. Then, it would be easy for each individual to participate. But when the general environment is oriented in the opposite manner (as our country obviously is) anyone who stays "in the system" like that lawyer is going to be corrupted in the sense I am talking about. There is a whole infrastructure that is either helping the man remain naive and clueless about the real world. And his paycheck depends on his participation. It is easy to "not give a damn" when nobody else does.
Ok, I've corrected the most significant issues. It is registered with insurance and runs well, it needs to be cleaned and I think the AC just needs a shot of freon (you know what I mean). I'll try to work on it more tomorrow.
I think you will really like it. It has been sitting for a while and has more issues that need to be corrected before I can pass it forward. I spent so day yesterday retrieving it and am burnt out because of that. If you want to help in correcting the outstanding issue then I can bring it form to show you and we can talk about what needs to be addressed but that would be tomorrow at the earliest.
Either one of two thought processes are traveling through this ‘liberal’ mind of a supposed humanitarian:
1) He is terribly naive/incompetent and repeats what he’s heard, never bothering to actually check it out for accuracy or
2) He doesn’t actually give a damn.
In either case the result is another individual who has lost all trust in an agency supposedly meant to help him.
